Thursday, February 16th = Students dress up & present at school Friday, February 3rd = Deadline for students to tell their teacher of their choice. Late entries will not be accepted. Parents, please help your child pick a notable African American, using the grade-level theme list.
 
Congratulations Oakcliff Science Fair Winners
The annual Oakcliff Science Fair results are in. This year we had a lot of great projects and a lot of great experiments. The top two experiment projects qualify to move on to the District's Science Fair.  
Watershed Art Contest Winners!!!
Oakcliff has 3 Winners of the Dekalb County Watershed Art Contest.  
Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Volunteers Needed
The DeKalb Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl is a fun, exciting, and memorable event for students, teachers, and parents. The competitions this year are scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Arabia Mountain High School. To accommodate for overcrowding, the event this year will consist of split competitions, middle and high schools at 9:00 a.m. and elementary schools at 1:00 p.m. 
Dekalb County Tech Fair

International Night 2016
Thursday, parents and families filled the school with wonderful authentic clothing, food, and dances from countries all over the world.  
HOUR OF CODE Day & Week
Monday, December 5 2016 - All Oakcliff classrooms will participate in at least 1 Hour of Code Activity. Each homeroom has decided by grade level to do soemthing Coding related. Some grades are doing unplugged activities. Other grades are programming robots. Other grades are doing several activities. The Specials teachers have all decided to do an activity as well - for the whole week! Be sure to ask your kids what they did in what class.If they have a Code.org login, through Code Club or their homeroom teachers, students may access thier login at home and code on a computer, tablet, or smart phone.
